Boston: places to go and things to do

Boston works well as a collection of compact walking outings: the Common and Public Garden, downtown history, the Greenway, or a museum visit near the Fenway. Pick one cluster before adding a second neighborhood.

Getting around Boston

Walk within downtown clusters and use the MBTA for longer moves. Charlestown and the Fenway are separate outings from the Common unless you have time for a longer walk or transit connection.

Plan for the weather

Have a museum option ready for wet or cold days. Waterfront and garden walks feel different in winter; seasonal boats, fountains, and food vendors should be checked separately.
